The first game of the 2012-2013 season for Radford basketball will be in Winston-Salem on November 9 against Wake Forest. From that first game on, the Highlanders will attempt to keep pace with the expectations set by last season's squad. They lose 54% of last season's minutes and hope to offset that with the contributions of eight incoming freshmen.

Radford will see the largest deficiency on defense, where the team lost 53.7% of their shot blocking. Equally as concerning is scoring, where they also lost a big 50.3% of last year's output.
